Transforming lives for over 30 years. From wells that sustain a family or rural community to filtration plants and large-scale projects, you are providing clean drinking water in a variety of ways.
How long will it take? Typically around nine months for a tube well, and a year for a Dig-A-Well or community well. Many are completed much sooner.
How long will it last? Water pumps last 10 years or more, Dig-A-Wells 25 years or more and community wells 35 years or more, with regular maintenance.
Where will it be built? Our country offices choose locations within active project areas, so every well reaches a community that needs it.

Will I get pictures and videos of my water well?
Yes. You’ll receive a feedback report with images of the well, details of its construction and information about the beneficiaries. Video footage is available on request.
How long will my well take to complete?
It depends on the type: around nine months for a tube well, and around a year for a Dig-A-Well or community well. Many are completed sooner, depending on local conditions.
Can I get a plaque on the well I donate?
Yes, every well includes a plaque. The message is limited to 30 characters including spaces, and can be written in any language.
How long does a water well last?
On average, water pumps last 10 years or more, Dig-A-Wells 25 years or more and community wells 35 years or more. Regular maintenance helps extend this.
Can I donate my well next to a masjid?
In most cases, yes, unless our team identifies an issue during the assessment stage, in which case they’ll let us know.
Can I choose where my well is built?
We work in designated regions at scheduled times to ensure quality. If your requested location is within a current project area, we can accommodate it; otherwise we’re unable to build there at this time.
What happens if my well needs repair?
Each community elects a caretaker trained by Muslim Hands in basic maintenance and repairs. If they can’t resolve an issue, they contact our team directly for help.
Can I get the exact coordinates of my well?
In most countries, yes. In some, such as Pakistan, government regulations prevent us sharing coordinates, so we provide detailed location information instead.
Are water sources tested for safety?
Our team conducts thorough checks before and after each well is completed, surveying the area, measuring depth and assessing other important factors before construction begins.
Can I give a well as a gift, with a certificate?
Yes, through Great Charity Gifts, where you can choose a certificate template and add a message. We can post it or email a digital copy.
Can I visit my well?
Yes, you’re very welcome. Location details are included in your feedback report; contact us to arrange a visit.
Will I receive updates during construction?
Not currently. We share updates once construction is complete, and plan to add step-by-step updates in future.
